Todays entire article is going to be dedicated to superman. No not literally Clark Kent, but another superman, one that plays RB in the NFL. You might of guessed by the title that we are going to be talking about the Vikings Adrian Peterson.
Born in Palestine, Texas, Peterson played football at Palestine High School, where as a senior he rushed for 2,960 yards and 32 touchdowns. Peterson was considered by many scouts as the best high school player in a decade. He then chose Oklahoma as his school of choice over others including Miami, Texas, and Arkanas.
In his freshman year at OK Peterson set many freshman rushing records, including rushing for a freshman record 1,925 yards, and finished second in the Heisman voting, behind Matt Leinart. During his sophmore year nagging injuries began to hit Peterson. He injured his ankle which hurt him all season long. Despite injuries the rest of his college career Adrian was taken with the 7th overral pick in 2007 draft by the Minnesota Vikings.
In his inagural season in the NFL Peterson rushed for 1,341 yards and 12 TDs in 14 games, and wowed fans with his amazing long runs which often included spectacular broken takles and jaw droping speed.
All in all, the truth is Adrian has only played one season in the NFL so it is impossible to tell if he is a one hit wonder. But in my opinion he will be along for a very, very, long time. I mean come on, The Man of Steel can't be beat right?
